The Kenya Under 20 national football team will camp in Morocco as they gear towards the upcoming Under 20 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) to be held in the Ivory Coast.

The 2025 edition of the competition will also serve as a direct qualifier for the Under 20 World Cup and will be held April 26 to May 18.

This follows a two year agreement between the Morccan Football Federation and the Football Kenya Federation signed in Rabat Morocco over the weekend.

Present at the signing was Moroccan Football chief Fouzi Lekjaa and his Kenyan counterpart Hussein Mohammed who will not just offer Morocco's modern training facilities, but also provide a platform to allow Kenyan technical staff to be trained by their Moroccan counterparts.

Morocco is the highest ranked African nation in the FIFA ranking, currently at position 14 and Football Kenya Federation boss Hussein Mohammed is certain the country will benefit alot from this arrangement.

"This partnership with the Royal Moroccan Football Federation is a big step forward for Kenyan football. Over the next two years, our coaches and technical staff will have access to quality training starting in April. We will also benefit from expertise in infrastructure development and maintenance which is key to our long-term plans, he said as quoted on Nation Africa.

Kenya has long been seeking a technical partner with other arrangements in the past failing to make it to fruition and as such this will be seen as a real coup for the recently elected Mohammed who is keen to proffesionalise the Kenya game.

The Kenyan boys are placed in group C alongside Senegal who are the current champions, Zambia and Sierra Leone. The semifinalists in the competition will automatically make it to the 2025 FIFA Under 20 World Cup to be held in Chile from September 27 to October 19 this year.

Group A: Ivory Coast, Ghana, Tanzania, DRC

Group B: Nigeria, Egypt, Morocco, South Africa

Group C: Senegal, Zambia, Kenya, Sierra Leone
